It's kind of hard to explain to people when they're manmade and their purpose is to procure resources for human survival... But that's right. They're living beings.
[ And obviously from the story, they're just exploited beings. ]
Woah. That's not something that's happening where I'm from. Yet.
[ Now he has to consider it. ]
We were on colony ship alongside many others—he tampered with their navigation and propulsion system, causing all of them to crash onto No Man's Land. You already know what our planet is like.
[ Humans would have died a lot earlier without plants. ]
We were born unexpectedly on the ship, so I'd say it's bad coincidence.
[ When you and your brother are just bad omens. ]
... I'm sure the humans would have preferred to have crashed on a better planet. It would have saved them from exhausted plants. [ ... ] They're trying to survive.
[ Vash is not going to get into humans have sex and that is a chance of pregnancy, versus a plant giving miracle birth out of nowhere. That is a conversation he won't have. ]
We were supposed to live a symbiotic relationship.
[ how is he going to learn about the birds and the bees in time to save his marriage now?? ]
...
Do you think people will listen? Especially after they've gone what sounds like a decent amount of time using plants for energy and won't know how do anything else.
People have good in them. Many of them have taken great care of Plants over the century, but reminder the whole populace that we can only survive this together can go a long way.
[ They will die without the other, in the end. Humans can only survive on so much once Plants are gone. ]
They've had a big wakeup call, recently, so I can only hope.
Yeah, sometimes that's what it takes. But on the other hand-- where I'm from we keep steadily destroying our home for profit. There are people that care about the environment, but a lot of the time their efforts are a drop in the ocean compared to the really big groups that aren't doing a damn thing to save it.

So it was just... a bad coincidence for you that you ended up there. But some kind of blessing for the people who use Plants then.

Yeah, well. “Supposed to”’s a pretty big ask when people are greedy and can exploit things.

... Yeah. [ It is what it is. ] I'm hoping after what has happened at home, things can change from that.

Just be careful there.
