I don't know if it's tied to a specific one. Offerings in general are from all kinds of religions, but usually they're above ground. I guess I've always just thought about burying mine since...you know. People are usually buried, too. As a kid I always thought maybe putting it in the ground would reach them faster and I guess I never really grew out of that.
Yeah, see? So it's like...sending them off or sending them things that are good that they might want to hear or might enjoy. I think it's probably the best way to honor them and let them know we're thinking about them.

... I like it. And it does make sense, to me. We do bury people. I know pharaohs in the old world used to be buried with their treasure too.
