I spent most of Monday doing that. [ Just a little unwind from the Sunday madness. ] But I guess I'm still kind of doing that.

Of course. [Easily!! He loves showing Sumeru off, tbh.] I don't know how well I could recreate some of the other nations, but I've been all over Sumeru, so it's easy to simulate.

I'd be happy to. [And he will lead the way!] What sort of scenery do you like, Vash? Deserts, forests? The water? I've tested it out, and the technology doesn't seem to have many limits.

Alright, I can do that. [Hmmm, he ponders.] I've been to Gandharva Ville enough that I doubt it would take much effort to recreate, but if you really want to see trees... ah, yes, I know what we'll do.

[He nods decisively! He has a plan.]

[ Vash is just quiet, following along, but he is definitely watching Kaveh as he percolates and brainstorms.

He thinks it's very cute of him. ]

[If it were any other day, it would be worrisome that Vash is so quiet--but after the events of the weekend, Kaveh doesn't think anything of it. He lets Vash be, commenting on this or that now and then and checking to make sure he's still close, but otherwise, he's alright with keeping fairly quiet as they head to the VR room.

Once they're inside, he heads over to fetch the headsets, holding one out to Vash.]

Have you used this place yet? You shouldn't have to do anything but put it on to see the simulation, but I can explain it to you if you'd like. [Through the power of magical handwaving]

[ He's making sure he takes as little space as possible! Emotionally, metaphorically, literally, but they're here in the VR room and he accepts the VR headset. ]

I gave some of the pamphlets and plaques a read, so I think I'm good to experience your artistry. I wouldn't mind a little preamble for what I'm about to see? If that's all right with you.

Well, I was thinking of showing you the Apam Woods. The trees there are some of the tallest I've ever seen--setting aside the Divine Tree and the ones Port Ormos is built into, anyway. It's a rainforest, but the main feature is the Varunastra. It's... well, it's difficult to explain, since I'm not all that familiar with it. Nahida could probably tell you more. But essentially, it's like a pillar of water that appears when it begins to rain in the forest.

It sounds fantastical... I'm sure Nahida would say you did a good job at explaining it.

[ Anyway, SHOW HIM THE SIMULATION. ]

Well, we'll see. [He puts his own headset on! And through the power of handwaving he will get the simulation set up.] Alright, go ahead and put yours on whenever you're ready.

[When he does, he'll find himself in Apam Woods, with sky-high trees and enormous plants all around. He'll probably notice that some of the trees have houses built into them, but the most prominent thing is the large contraption sitting in front of them, waterfalls roaring in the background. For now, there's no pillar of water--he waits for Vash to take it in first.]

[ Truly, Genshin Impact delivers on scenery, but Vash is easy to impress as being from a desert planet with very little. He ooooosss he aaaahhhs. ]

[IT REALLY DOES help. But Kaveh just looks very pleased and fond... it's all solid so he can try to climb if he wants!! But the tree is like 10 times their size at least,,]

You might need some help from the mushrooms. [Jump on the bouncy mushrooms Vash!]

[ He watches cause he thinks it's funny to watch someone like Kaveh jump up and down so high. ]

But he will land with perhaps a surprising level of control.]

The Forest Rangers have all kinds of other techniques for getting around. Most of us don't need to bother with any of this, though.

[ Kaveh just looks like someone who doesn't camp. ]

Because you guys are usually in the city?

[ HIS TURN TO JUMP and he jumps up and down on the mushroom, having the time of his life. ]

[He really doesn't, and yet.]

Most people are, yes--or at least in villages and such. This area has some dangerous creatures and wandering thieves, so it's not really somewhere that people tend to stay. But I live in Sumeru City, and most of my recent work has been out in the desert.

I guess it would make sense that an ecosystem with biodiversity would have all types of fauna...

[ Still jumping and doesn't question bandits. Stealing is normal in most worlds. ]

I wouldn't mind camping outside if it was like this. [ Bounce, bounce. ] Are you designing something out there?

It's not my favorite, personally. But I like being able to see the stars if I'm sleeping outside.

[He just watches Vash bounce, fond.]

Oh--yes, I was working on a big project out there a few months ago. And then my last client... ugh, I don't even want to talk about that.

[With a little concentration, he adjusts the scene--I can't find a gif of it but he will make the Varunastra activate, the water swelling up into the sky just before it begins to rain, with large bubbles popping into existence around them.]
