Kaveh doesn't say that. He also doesn't question a stranger asking for his expert opinion, because he's kind of used to it.]
Do you mean the available products or the layout of the building itself? Because those are two completely questions with very different answers. [He doesn't wait for Vash to clarify.] Now, my specialty isn't interior design, but I do have something for a passion for it, and the pieces available here are all so... uninspired. They're horrendously dull! Sure, you could argue that some basic pieces are vital for a highly customizable space, but even the craftsmanship is completely impersonal. This building itself, on the other hand--I have to admit, it's quite fascinating. This is one of the biggest shops I've ever seen, and the designers have clearly focused on maximizing the amount of time individuals spend inside, leading them past as many tempting items as possible. I can see it potentially leading to frustration from overwhelmed shoppers, and I wouldn't say I like it, necessarily, but it is quite cleverly done.
[No one is prepared for Kaveh to architect at them]
Of course. Take ruins in the desert, for instance--they're riddled with mazes and puzzles as defense mechanisms. I can't say whether or not the designer of this shop was inspired by such things, but it's not necessarily an unusual technique.
[Ohhh, so it's a desert! That makes sense. Kaveh nods in understanding; he's very familiar with the desert.
But, oh... he shifts.]
Ah--you don't have to, if you don't want to talk about it. [He doesn't want to bring the mood down, especially if this stranger is only asking out of obligation.]
...Yes, I can't say I don't understand that. [Well. Kind of. He knows what it's like the desert, even if he didn't live out there--but his understanding doesn't extend that far, because he's never heard of any kind of "murder game" amongst the Eremites. (Then again, it's not like he's one of them, so... hrm. He doesn't like that thought, actually. He'll have to ask Nahida.)
But Kaveh has the grace to acknowledge an attempt at lightening the mood, so he gives Vash a smile--a touch awkward, but reassuring.]
I can't say I've ever had one, but they do look tempting in the picture.
