[ damn Kaveh, your eyesight beyond the fourth wall. ]
You... Didn't have to.
[ At least it isn't the week where all our emotions were leaking out. Gently, he pats Kaveh's back while he looks ahead, thinking on things. They're murmured, stifled, but the sense that Vash has gone through this before lingers. ]
[ Because, in the end, Vash loves company, even though right now he wishes he could hide and be alone with his emotions. They aren't good to share, but perhaps that's the shared believe both him and Kaveh have. Their sorrow drags others down...
However, Kaveh let him stay, so he lets Kaveh stay despite his instincts. Slowly, his hand raises to hang onto his forearm, his hand, or whatever he can hold onto. ]
I'm fine, so don't worry your head over me too much, okay? There are... Other people.
[ But that's a mantra of his. He has to be fine. It should be easier a second time. ]
[Vash can hold onto whatever he wants, though eventually, Kaveh will loosen his grip so that he can slip away if needed. Otherwise, though, he's just going to rest his head against Vash's.
It's no less devastating to hear it a second time, really, but at least it's not a shock. Still... even setting aside how deeply he cares for the three of them himself, it breaks his heart all over again to know that this isn't new to them.
So many tragedies inflicted on such good people. It kills him to be so helpless.
Softly--]
Being used to it doesn't mean you're fine.
[He's not going to force Vash to cry on him, or even to talk about his feelings if he doesn't want to. But the message is clear even without thoughtshare: Right now, he wants to be here for Vash.]
[ I thought I was good at hiding things. But this place is ridiculous, finding somehow some way to coax things out of him against his will. People have seen through him deeper than he'd like... In the end, they're here and he starts rubbing his eyes.
The thoughts are stifled, suffocated, because he doesn't want anything dark to black out everything around him, but there's a small gleam. A simple whisper that he's glad Kaveh is here, happy that people checked up on him.
In the grand scheme of things, it may not do anything, but it matters to him. ]
I have to be ready for tomorrow.
[ Hungry... But all he wants to do is sob for a bit. ]
Vash is good at hiding, he thinks. Better than Kaveh, for sure. He remembers all those weeks ago--the realization that someone else felt the same way he did. It wasn't something he would've wished on another person... but there was no denying that little curl of relief, knowing that at least one person here truly understood him.
But it would be impossible for him to think Vash would be okay today. Even without this week's developments, it was obvious how close they were. Kaveh lost Nahida less than a week ago; that pain was indescribable, and Kaveh barely knew Nahida before coming here. He can't even begin to imagine what it's like for the people who've lost loved ones they were so deeply attached to.
Even now, Kaveh's hesitant to assume other people's feelings. He doesn't dare to believe that Vash might feel comfortable letting go of his defenses just because Kaveh is here. Kaveh doesn't want to force him through the door; he just wants Vash to know that it's open.
He lifts a hand rest on the back of Vash's head, gentle.]
Just tell me what you need, tomorrow. I'll be there.
[He wants answers--but a part of him is afraid that they won't like the ones they get. So, even more than that... he wants Vash and Livio to know that they don't have to deal with this alone.
They've been so kind to him. So steady and caring in his worst moments. He'll give them space if they seem to need it but... it's the absolute least he can do to return the favor.
I'll bring you something soon. He remembers how much comfort Matsui found here; Vash should be allowed to stay too, if he wants to.]
Week 6, Friday
Anyway Kaveh can have his own breakdown later in private. He's immediately going to come find Vash in the cathedral and pull him into a tight hug.]

Kaveh?
[ How did you know I was here? ]
no subject
I went looking for you.
[And... well. They've met here before. It wasn't that hard to guess.]

You... Didn't have to.
[ At least it isn't the week where all our emotions were leaking out. Gently, he pats Kaveh's back while he looks ahead, thinking on things. They're murmured, stifled, but the sense that Vash has gone through this before lingers. ]
But thanks.

But Kaveh just... clings to him, for a little while. He interrupted Vash's prayers but either he doesn't notice, or he doesn't care.]
I did. [Mumbled.
I didn't want you to be alone.]
